Balanced Yoga Enrichment & Professional Program...

Deepen Your Practice, Enrich Your Life

At Balanced yoga our goal is to develop highly trained and professional teachers who create their own voice and style through their own practice. We are interested in creating yoga teachers who understand and embody their practice on every level. The physical, emotional and intellectual demands of our program encourage and foster personal growth, which is essential to creating a strong yoga practice that can create success in the classroom. To that end our program offers an unprecedented number of contact hours with senior teachers who will guide you into your next phase, whether that is teaching yoga or deepening your personal practice. Those who are looking for an easy and quick approach to a career as a yoga instructor most likely will not find our program desirable, but those dedicated to learning and integrating both the philosophical and physical aspects of the practice of yoga into their lives and careers will find what we have to offer invaluable. We invite you to join us for a life transforming personal journey.

The 100-Hour Enrichment program is for students who are interested in taking their personal practice deeper and for those who are interested in teaching. We are offering the 100-hour Enrichment in module format  (24 modules total) for students who are interested in a more in-depth study of specific aspects of yoga, but may need to space out their study to fit their schedule. In this program the focus will be on practice of asana, pranayama, meditation, and the study of yoga history and philosophy. Yoga philosophy will be covered so that participants may gain deeper understanding of the roots and origins of yoga and how the practices are applicable in the context of our lives today. Basic anatomy and physiology will be covered as it relates to the practice of yogasana and the body. The Enrichment Program is a requirement for those who want to enter the teacher training program. The details outlining each weekend are available as a downloadable PDF: Enrichment Brochure.

300–Hour Teacher Training Program

It has been our experience that traditional 200–hour training programs do not provide adequate time to fully develop a strong yoga practice and sophisticated teaching style. Balanced Yoga’s program addresses this problem by implementing and integrating the process in two phases: the first phase is the 100 Hour Enrichment program the second phase is our 200–Hour Teaching program.
1. 100–Hour Enrichment Program — The journey inward, the integration of the practice of yoga into each individual’s life, involves creating a deeper understanding of the practice and experience of yoga. This portion of the program is 100 hours and is required in order to receive teacher certification.

2. 200–Hour Professional Teaching Program — The journey outward and the integration of personal experience and yoga practice into the classroom. This part of the program is 200–hours and it is designed for those whose desire is to teach yoga professionally. Students will learn to develop classes for various populations that integrate philosophical themes, and an individuated anatomical focus that will create a positive and intensive yoga experience for your own students.

500–Hour Advanced Professional Program
(Requires completion of the Balanced Yoga 300–Hour program or 200–hour certification from another school. A student who has completed a 200–hour program at another school may enter the 500–hour program after completing the 100–hour enrichment program.)
At the end of our 300–Hour Teacher Training program you will have had the advantage of extended contact hours in the classroom to refine your teaching skills in the presence of senior teachers at a level not offered in other traditional 200–hour programs. In the process you will have accumulated numerous hours toward a 500-hour certification. The 500–hour program will give you the opportunity to specialize and further integrate what you have learned from teaching and learning in the classroom into your personal practices and teaching.
